Workshop: Nightshift by Drea Renee Knits
11-2 pm Sunday: December 4th, 11th & 18th
Mosaic knitting is a fun, easy way to knit with two or more colors and achieve dramatic results without the stress of carrying two colors across a row. Each row of knitting is done with only one color at a time. The stitches in the second color are slipped without being knitted. Like magic, you have this intricate (looking) pattern without shedding any tears! You’ve most likely seen NightShift by Andrea Mowry grace the “what’s hot now” page on Ravelry since it came out in 2018. It is still one of the most compelling projects out there. This project checks all the boxes:
engaging project (watching the colors shift), larger needles (instant gratification), and a unique accessory (you knit that?!).
You will learn the techniques used in this pattern, including sideways shawl construction, mosaic knitting, I-cord edging, I-cord bind-off, increasing, decreasing, slipping stitches, and changing colors.
Pattern: Nightshift by Drea Renee
Adventurous Advanced Beginner (and up) Skill Level: must be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, work basic stitch patterns with combinations of knits and purls, simple increases/decreases, and follow written instructions.
